Part 1. Await

I know that you will soon come, my dear. I have been anticipating your arrival since I have come to realise who you are and who you are going to be. I know you will recognise it too. I am certain of it; do not mistake me for being an optimist for I am anything but one but this I am sure, absolutely, without a shadow of a doubt.

Like a gallant warrior on horseback in the silence of the night, you will suddenly make your presence known. My heart has been wearied by life’s rough hands and has travelled across the horizons seeking solace. May it find peace within your bosom. May it find refuge in your care.

Love has many dimensions. Too many sides and unthinkable depths. Our human error is to define it, to box it up which unfortunately puts a limit to what love is. But love is infinite. It is unconditional. It doesn’t require reason nor pre-requisites.

I pray nights like these will end. I will memorise every crease of your face, and every scar that life has decorated upon thy person. I will hearken to your sweet call in the quietness when there seems to be no hope. Your voice will be my favourite song, your smile, my only vision. My heart longs for a port, where it can safely dock in finality. It is done with its solitary voyage.
